It was a stunning experience for me at Gombak stadium yesterday! The best 2 high jumpers in Singapore went, namely Ronnie Cai and Mike Loh. The latter put up a tough fight in the tie-breaker but lost eventually. From 6.30pm it dragged on to about 7.30. The highest height set was 2.06m but none of e 2 could clear. I just couldn't get enough of their incredible jumps! Michael Loh talked to me quite a bit. He asked me a couple of times how much he cleared over the bar. Lol one time he asked I said he cleared more than ronnie, and he replied, "I don't believe in this kind of thing la" But seriously lor...Ronnie's flight path over the air is very flat and horizontal, while michael body shoots straight up and execute a damn damn flexible upper body bend over the bar. Naturally that would seem more air above the bar hahha...
Overall it was a sensational night.
How about me? I cleared over 1.60m(also my personal best) in my first attempt and missed twice on 1.65m. I was done then hehe.. I didn't really feel any shin pain lately during jumping sessions. And the ground at the stadium felt much padded and I can feel the difference of that and in JJ. Next time must ask jiesheng carry e mattress to the semi-circle of the track(where e hockey team do their shooting) to jump :)
Woah! Wings website released a HJ video of ronnie for last night. shiok.
