I started watching Hana Kimi from mysoju.com 2 days back when I got bored in reading my market notes. I didn't know it was the japanese version of 花样少男少女. The drama on the long list of the website just found me. There were plenty of surprises in the japanese version even though I watched very little parts of the taiwanese version.

i. The main character is actually Oguri Shun( as Sano Izumi), who also played Rui(花泽类) in Hana Yori Dango series.

ii. The girl-turns-boy actress is simply more chio than Ella of the taiwanese drama.

This drama gives me motivation with the part when the promising high jumper Sano exclaimed, " Hard work will always be rewarded." after winning a national competition. It encourages me to continue the body-punishing workout that i'm doing every week in week out. I could connect well with the drama and the emotions of a high jumper, because amateurs can't decipher what we are after. We are very 另类, very different from sprinters and marathoners who mostly go for public glory or individual accomplishment. We(the true hjumpers) just want to feel closer to the sky, closer to what we really want in our hearts.

Suddenly I wanted to do this- to earmark the recent SEA games men's high jump results for top 1,2, 3 spots. Here's what came out after searching the net high and low.

2007 Thailand
1. 2.19m
2. 2.17m
3. 2.15m

2005 Philippines
1. 2.14m
2. 2.11m
3. 2.11m

2003 Vietnam
1. 2.15m
2. 2.10m
3. ???

So my conclusion is that the bronze medal qualification is about 2.10m, which is very hard by Singapore's standard but I CAN TRY TO DO IT !
