Weeee! I am feeling great today! I went down to MacRitchie for a x-country competition. My boss always send me to races even when he knows my mediocre running times because other people in the building are deemed unfit for vigorous runs.
What to do? Suck thumb hard and go to be the last runner lor... But today was a great run because I outperformed myself and many others.

Here's the race report.

We did the left side route of 4.5km and flagged off at 4pm. Within a couple of minutes into the route, I was almost in the last pack of runners. I followed some guys I know from my block and ran for a long while until one of them broke out ahead. I just kept going until when I hit the highway pedestrian concrete way my throat was getting too dry to bear. But I moved on still, with that desert-like thirst all the way. There was a long stretch of runners just tens of metres ahead of me. I thought I could outrun several of them if they got too tired from running so fast during the forest phase. But they just kept going like me and I constantly kept the same distance behind the last guy of that group. The dryness was getting worse and worse and I rolled my tongue here and there trying to squeeze out more fluid. Not before long, I saw the left turn ahead which meant the final 50m to the finish line. I did what I was built for, that is to sprint beat 3 guys to the final point. I bet they were thinking no one would come so fast from behind to set them back a few more positions. Haha... Luckily I didn't trip or crash into them while overtaking.

Race timing: 22min+
Remarks: That is the best timing I got from running that 4.5km route all these years since secondary school.

Beijing Olympics 2008 is going to commence in 2 days' time!
I can't wait to see who soars the highest in Men's High Jump Event!
My sincere wishes to Team Singapore in getting a medal to end our dwindling pride in international athletics.
