I'm back from my chalet stay at Aloha Chalets, at Changi. It was totally eventful and I'll list every one of it haha...Let's start from the arrival part.
Things I brought:
Clothes, bathing items, fishing kit(including rod and bait)
I travelled through 20+ MRT stations from Boon Lay all the hell' way to Tampines...I just raised my record by one station. I travelled from Boon Lay to Expo b4...both then and now alone lor.
At the Tampines station, I joined Liu Yun who was standing by the side near the control station. As usual, he seemed bored and uninterested in the things around him lol. Finian came shortly after and we set off to get some tibits. But we sparked off a search for the tampines mall. There are a few buildings near the mrt station and we walked a circle around it and asked around for the location of the ntuc as well. Next we couldn't find ntuc fairprice also. There was a overhead sign indicating "supermarket" with an escalator. We went down the escalator and didn't saw it. I suggested to Finian that it is upstairs at 2nd floor cuz I thought that sign meant going up the escalator and not down instead. He defended himself well by stating that ntuc branches are always in the basement. I agreed too then but the fact was there that we couldn't see it from the basement escalator.
Fast Forward >>> We bought a couple of tibits and took bus 29 to Commando Camp there..Another 30 mins gone in just that bus ride.
At the chalet mansion...
Finally the arrival of three punks who stupidly bought so much distilled water from Guardian shop and carried them for like 300m from bus stop to the chalet house until my hands cried for help haha....We were greeted by Mr Ivan Lee's mum and aunt at the door. They were hanging out beside a Merc E200. Mr Lee ushered us into our room at the 1st floor and we all went to his room to cool down and relax. Mr Lee's room was so spacious and the ceiling was twice as high as our room's. Totally intriguing to rest there nia. Hmm let's see what we did next together..Oh. Mr Lee showed us around the mansion and we took a stroll down a cliff semi-covered by undergrowth to the shore. Yucks.Dirty shore. It was just like the one @ West Coast Park. Ya there was mutiple boats anchored in the canal. That was not a sea because there is another shore just about 1km across. We explored the shore and walked along a wooden bridge. Behind the bridge from the shore, it was Changi Beach Club. I'd say that club has found the worst place near the beach to situate in hahaa....It didn't make full use of the beach also lor...Apparently there's nothing you can do in the cordoned area of the sea and beach, unless you want to swim in the seawater rather than the swimming pool in it. The time is about 3.30pm. Shawn called and we're supposed to take that bus back to Tampines and accompany him back to the chalet. However we 3 dudes took our own sweet time and rested too much at our room that Shawn was faster than we thought. Finan, Liu Yun and me went to the bus stop Shawn's supposed to alight and wait for him. And stupid Finian suggested we play Chua Dai Di(Big 2) since we had nothing to do while waiting for Shawn. Finian wants a "O Ya Bei Ya Som" to choose someone to take the cards from the chalet(300 m away) and I quickly rejected knowing that I have absolutely bad luck in that every single time in the past.Liu Yun also didn't liked the idea of doing so. However I gave in to him. "O Ya Bei Ya Som~~!" I'm the loser."See!!!!!!? Wah Lau~!!!!!" I was so mad with the bad luck I have...But it's just not my day lol.. It's my first time playing cards at a bus stop hahaaa...How many of you have tried that? Btw that area is quite deserted cause' there's not much landmarks around except for the Commando Camp and Changi Prison.
Ahemm..I am tired after writing so much in one go. You must be tired too huh? I'll summarise those boring s0-called events. After Shawn arrived we unpacked our bags and placed our things everywhere in the room haha..How tidy can 4 boys be? We hanged around for some time before we had a buffet dinner in the house. Mr Lee's preparation of the chalet is really excellent. I give an excellent for the food too. His relatives are very kind and warm esp her mother who occassionally offered us her home-made dishes and desert personally!!! Mr Lee's students from Woodgrove sec was also as warm and friendly. Yeah we had our fill... Also, my fill of Finian's crude and straightforward comments on the food he ate. Lol he arh...Haven't changed that habit yet... We were all at the elongated table having our dinner(we were sitting at a sq table beside the long one) and some otahs and hotdogs was served to us from the long table..We kindly accepted it. Finian and Liu Yun was nibbling on an otah each and they ate them with a disgusted look haha...It tasted bad..Luckily I didn't tried it. Next was the hotdogs I think...Finian nibbled on it carefully as if he was a food critic on the culinary show Iron Chef.He said something negative about the hotdog...I forgot what...But he said some more and with a tone that I assumed deliberately one. He was as if trying to signal out to the ppl on the long table who served us the food that it is bad...It's ok if you..ermm directly converse politely with the ppl that the food tastes weird or bad... But isn't it too much if you keep saying loudly(hinting offensively to others) things like," Why taste so funny huh???! That person dunno how to cook la.." Aiya..I forgot how Finian said liao..Anyway it just irritated me..as well as Shawn and Liu Yun. Finian, not I want to say u la...be polite and respect others can? Thank You. ~~~~welcome~~
Later into the night we started the majong session. I didn't know how to play at all but after afew hours I learned almost anything I need to from all my 3 friends on the table. "Zhi Mo" was how I won my first game, not to mention the countless no. of games I lost before I got my chance to win lol..Shawn you're the funniest lol..."I want Zhi Mo, you all don't help me hor..." Then everytime he has the last card/tile he will keep chanting Zhi Mo Zhi Mo. He is really lucky sia...wonder if he was wearing red billabong boxers or something underneath anot lol....
If you want to go to Wild Wild Wet in Downtown East by taxi, better go temple pray first. We were at Pasir Ris lor and flagged down several taxis but all said they dunno where that is...Kao..The Wild Wild Wet is so near to where we were flagging taxis and we had to wait so long to get aboard a taxi and go there. Anyway Wild Wild Wet is overrated. If you compare it to the Jurong East water theme park, it is totally not worth it to go WWW. It has only a few more rides to choose from and it costs 4times more expensive. S$12.50 to enter the place. S$2.00 for one locker powered by computer. I think at least one of the rides need to pay extra for the float needed for it. The wave pool is so small and dangerous! It is very steep lol...you walk 5 steps and it goes 30cm deeper. The Shoik River(the canal) was wide but its floor is very very rough. I slipped because I waded past a strong current flow thing and I suffered 3 mild scratches on my feet. Shawn even more jalat..had cuts instead of scratches. The walls of the Shoik River was as rough too.
I saw my primary sch classmate there with her family when I was at the top floor of the 6-men float ride. Her brother is a sec 1 tanglinian!Hurray! Her brother is a tracker like her too! Hurray x2
One of the most shocking taxi ride experience ocurred also when we wanted to go back by taxi. We took the 7th taxi we flagged because the previous 6 taxi drivers claimed that they don't know the place we want to go. Shawn was saying that they don't even know Changi Prison. It's a historical site so valuable to Singapore's tourism and history lor. I thought taxi drivers are supposed to know the attraction sites or something meh?
Although I was planning to fish, I didn't... I placed my bait inside the big freezer and Mr Lee's family cleared it before they left the chalet for home. So I only rational thing to do is the go to the fishing bridge and hopefully borrow some baits. But no! I asked several anglers and none were willing to spare some...Sigh.. DUnno they kiasu or what...Lend some bait only wad...Not lend their flesh also...I really despise them...Fishing is a leisure hobby to enjoy lo.Let everyone have fun ma...Hmpf..Like they can catch any fishes to bring home lor...That kinda of place how can get a big catch?Plus so many anglers fishing together. But on the other hand, who got so stupid so share bait with someone who will fight with you for a catch? So sorry to Shawn who accompanied me to the bridge in the dead of the night for nothing.
