I went into the Circuit Park before Edmund reached City Hall 20minutes later. The Aston Martin race was going on already.
There were Singtel Singapore F1 merchandise stalls and F1 Team Merchandise stalls. Both types are frequently mobbed by F1 tourists and locals.
Just a few seconds after taking the shot above, a group of entertainers paraded behind me. A handful of females and 1 male groupie. The guy keep muttering words like " C'mon let's have some love. Yeah" and "How're you enjoying it? Smashing, aren't they?(referring to his female counterparts)"
Day 2 : Practice Session 3 and Qualifying Session.
Pole Position-F. Massa
P2- L. Hamilton
P3- K. Räikkönen
The qualifying rounds were absolutely exciting last night.
Here's how the qualifying works. Now F1 GP has 20 cars racing ( less 2 since the Super Aguri team quitted early in this 2008 season).
All cars hit the track one after another for 20mins to get their best timings. Top 15 gets through to the next round. Slowest 5 in this 1st round will sit at the last 5 spots of the actual race's starting grid.
2nd round lasts 15mins and will start after a short break from the 1st round. Top 10 in this round will advance to the final and 3rd round of qualifying. The slowest 5 in this round will be placed from 11th-15th spot on the starting grid.
The 3rd round is the same as previous Q. rounds. Whoever is fastest in this final round will be on the pole position at the start of the race.
One point to notes is that the qualifying rounds don't give credit to whoever that gets the fastest lap timings. A driver would need to get consistent fast timings in Round 1 and 2 to make it to the final 3rd Round to be able to fight for the pole position.
If you crashed or failed to survive it back to the pit lane after the round is up, you will be placed at the starting grid as the slowest spot of the round. E.g you failed to finish(Fernando Alonso was the unlucky one) in Round 2, you will be starting as the 15th spot, as would normally the slowest driver in Q. Round 2 will get.
F. Alonso was 6th fastest in the 1st round. Then his car's fuel supply failed him at the turn in front of our grandstand during the 2nd round of qualifying.
I went to the ground level behind and below our grandstand.
Around the stairs area.
Hamilton zipping through underneath the grandstand tunnel.
Another random shot.
